Lyngen Alps trekking
DAY 1: We will pick you up at the airport and drive straight to Nordkjosbotn, the starting point of our trekking. Here we will prepare our backpacks together, distribute the common material and go over the plans for the coming week. the same evening (or the next morning if you had a late flight) we walk a good hour to arrive at our first beautiful overnight stay along the banks of the Storvatnet.
DAY 2 – 8: We follow a fixed route from south to north and from east to west Lyngen. For the most part we walk through valleys, over mountainridges and along small lakes with an impressive view over the 2 lyngen fjords and the many glaciers. Since we do “wildcamping”, we are quite flexible to find the best camping spots and adapt the hiking days as best as possible to the weather and our physical abilities. Most days we walk 15-20 km with 500-1250 positive altimeters.
DAY 9: Arrival at the Lyngstuva lighthouse, the most northerly point of the Lyngen Peninsula, and the end of our trip. Here the car is waiting for us, and we drive back together to Balsfjord, where we end our trip with a delicious BBQ and spend our last night in a cozy cabin alongside the Fjord.
DAY 10: Departure home
2 persons: 1100 Euro pp
3-6 persons: 900 Euro pp
If you are interested in this trip as a single person, don’t hesitate to contact us for a specific price, or to join another group. Contact us for personal arrangements, other trips / wishes or larger groups.
You must have a good to very good physical condition for this adventure. The distances we daily do are not extreme (15-20km), but a large part of this goes through wild terrain and paths that are not walked a lot, or where there is no path, and the necessary river crossings always provide extra adventure !
In our trip we have 1 supply stop halfway, where you can pick up material / food that we can keep separate for you, so that we never have to carry food in the backpack for more than 4 days.
We offer this trip from the beginning of June (then we have midnight sun here in Northern Norway) to the end of September (from the end of August there is a chance to see the Northern Lights!)
